Week of the Young Child

LADACIN Network’s Child Care had a good week celebrating the Week of the Young Child, an annual celebration sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).  The NAEYC is the world’s largest early childhood education association, and “the purpose of the Week of the Young Child is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families and to recognize the early childhood programs and services that meet those needs,” according to the NAEYC website.

At the Give and Take Child Care and Preschool, our children eagerly participated in daily activities with their classmates and their parents. Each day had a theme to promote learning and fun.  Music Monday, focused on singing, dancing, celebrating and learning. Tasty Tuesday, where healthy eating and fitness were stressed and the children enjoyed healthy tacos for lunch.

On Work Together Wednesday the older children helped the younger children with the preparations for planting a garden.

Artsy Thursday gave us some artistic creations made out of paint and bubble wrap, and Family Friday, invited parents to come and have breakfast with the children before heading off to work.

A big thank you to all the Child Care and Preschool staff for making this week such a great learning experience, as well as a fun time!
